Cedar Elm - Ridgmar

While riding my bike up the hill on Green Oaks Blvd., I saw a crew chopping up this tree and hauling it off for the firewood pile. I rode up, introduced myself, and offered to take the solid pieces of this fallen tree off their hands. As is always the case, they appreciated the help.

Two very large trees had grown in the same spot - the other being a White Oak. The majority of the trunk of this Cedar Elm was in good shape, as the reason it blew over in a storm was a problem with the roots and weaknesses within.
